On Jan. 3, ESPN company reporter Darren Rovell tweeted that the “Cleveland-based dating website” FarmersOnly.com had joined Excedrin being a sponsor for the season that is”perfect Browns parade.
“there is no need become 0-16 to participate FarmersOnly.com,” read an ad within the tweet. “Cleveland fans do have it.”
Observant Twitter users might have jolted, initially, in the sight of Rovell’s offhanded “Cleveland-based.” They may have struggled to square this brand new intel with perceptions regarding the oft-parodied web web site and its particular oft-parodied jingle and its own oft-parodied commercials as one thing remote and perhaps Iowan. It was a website, most likely, launched in 2005 as being a hub for “farmers and ranchers to fulfill like-minded people.” (Italics added.)
